Meet Giuseppe Giaimo

Owner & Operator, Giaimo Management

Giuseppe Giaimo’s journey into the world of restaurants started long before he ever put on a McDonald’s uniform. Born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, Giuseppe grew up watching his Sicilian-American family run a local Italian restaurant. It wasn’t just a business—it was a way of life. That’s where he got his first taste of what it meant to serve people with heart and hustle.

Driven by discipline and inspired by stories of his grandfather’s military service, Giuseppe chose to attend Oak Ridge Military Academy during his formative years—a decision he still credits for shaping the leader he is today.

After high school, he pursued Hospitality Management and Business at East Carolina University, finishing his degree in just three years. But college gave him more than just a diploma—it’s also where he met his wife, the person who would support him through every leap in his career.

Giuseppe started out managing a local hotel in Greensboro, but a conversation with a former McDonald’s leader sparked something bigger. He took a chance on a new path and began his journey with McDonald’s in 2008, starting as a Second Assistant in Raleigh, NC. Within a year, he was promoted to General Manager, and soon after, he was trusted to open a brand new corporate store.

From there, his path continued to grow. He moved to Washington, D.C., to work with his father-in-law, a respected McDonald’s Owner/Operator in the DMV area. And in 2015, Giuseppe made a bold move—he purchased his very first McDonald’s, located inside the Pentagon. Just a few years later, in 2018, he relocated to coastal Virginia, where he now owns and operates multiple McDonald’s restaurants in the Hampton and Newport News area.

Giuseppe’s leadership style is shaped by his deep respect for family, community, and continuous growth. He’s faced challenges, celebrated wins, and embraced every lesson along the way.

Whether you’re grabbing a meal at one of his restaurants or applying to join the team, know this: you’re stepping into a place built on passion, purpose, and people.

“I am a dry sponge thirsting for water.”
— A phrase Giuseppe lives by, reminding himself (and his team) to never stop learning.
